The school has more than 150 children the ages of 7-15 years, from grades 1-7 from the vulnerable communities of Livingstone. You will teach these children with the help of the local teacher working the curriculum in each class.
You will work from 08:00 AM to 12:00 AM from Monday to Friday. You will be an assistant teacher to teach basic subjects such as English, Maths and other creative subjects. You are expected to be flexible and creative to accommodate slow learners and also have to consult with the local teacher on the abilities of the children in the school.
Most of the children in our school have just been introduced to education so you should be willing to take these at their pace in all spheres.
Volunteer experiences have a direct and positive impact on local communities by injecting money into the local economy through the purchase of food, transportation, and tourism activities. Volunteering is a great way to give back to the comunity and make a difference in the world. Depending on the type of volunteer experience you are interested in, your time can be spent improving educational resources and opportunities, providing medical services to underserved communities, or promoting environmental conservation and sustainable farming techniques.
Arrive on Saturday or Sunday well before a meeting point time. Saturday arrivals need to book one extra night at our accommodation.

For this program, you will find yourself dining on healthy local Zambian foods like nhima, potato, bread, meat, fish, lots of vegetables, nuts and eggs and sometimes rice and spaghetti.
Our center is located in Livingstone, the southern province of Zambia, which is about 8 hours from the capital, Lusaka. You will stay in a dorm-style center with other participants. Each house accommodates 12 people with rooms shared between 4-8 people (separate genders) and western-style toilets.
