At WhereNext Experiences, we're more than just a group of travel enthusiasts. We're a purpose-driven company on a mission to make a positive impact in the world, one volunteer experience at a time. We started our journey during the pandemic, when the world came to a halt and we realized how much we missed exploring new places and cultures. But instead of just waiting for things to go back to normal, we decided to create something new, something that would combine our passion for travel with our desire to give back to local communities.
Our inspiration came from other great companies that share our values, like Patagonia and Salesforce. We believe that business can be a force for good, and we want to prove it by offering life-changing experiences to our volunteers and supporting local organizations that are making a difference in the world.
One of the things that inspired us the most is Salesforce's Volunteer Time Off (VTO) initiative. As part of their Pledge 1% commitments, Salesforce employees can take up to 7 days off each year to give back to society. They can volunteer in their local community or travel to other countries to work on meaningful projects. We think this is an amazing way to make a difference, and we want to offer similar opportunities to our volunteers.

We've already had some amazing experiences that we'll never forget. One of them was in Nepal, where we helped a local NGO refurbish a women's refuge for victims of human trafficking. We painted, renovated, and cleaned the refuge to make it a more welcoming and comfortable place for the women who stayed there. It was a humbling and rewarding experience that showed us the power of working together to make a positive change in the world.

Then in early 2020 the pandemic hit and at first it seemed like a crazy time to start a travel company, however this strengthened our conviction to create a purpose-led business that will be able to help developing communities who have been so affected by the crisis.  

The website and business is being developed for a launch early 2022 while we are lucky enough to be traveling around Australia avoiding the pandemic whilst visiting some of the remotest parts of the continent.
