Sports Coaching in Zambia

Improve the lives of disadvantaged children via sports
    Overview icon

    Overview

The soccer coaching program involves working with boys and girls from the ages of 10-25 years from the most vulnerable communities. The senior team for the boys is participating in the official league for the Football Association of Zambia. You will help the boys to sharpen their sports skills and work with the local coaches.

You can train them on basic skills in sports, mainly soccer, to both boys and girls who want to improve their talents. You can also provide life skills education after the soccer sessions, with a number of topics to build character and engage to make their own choices for the future. The soccer program is from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM from Monday to Friday. The league games are played either on Saturday or Sunday from 3:00 PM.

    Objectives

    • Coaches can also help children develop important life skills
    • Coaches can teach children how to set goals, how to work hard and how to stay positive
    • Coaches can also help students learn how to deal with disappointment and how to handle success
    • These skills help disadvantaged children to stay focused on school and improve their lives via sport

    Impact

Volunteer experiences have a direct and positive impact on local communities by injecting money into the local economy through the purchase of food, transportation, and tourism activities. Volunteering is a great way to give back to the comunity and make a difference in the world. Depending on the type of volunteer experience you are interested in, your time can be spent improving educational resources and opportunities, providing medical services to underserved communities, or promoting environmental conservation and sustainable farming techniques.
